Karl Wright, Director with Yendall Hunter, has more than 18 years of experience in the engineering and construction sector. After working on large scale building, civil engineering and rail projects commercially and delivering multiple projects ranging in value from £10m to £130m, Karl now specialises in quantum related disputes.
Karl has provided services to developers, contractors, subcontractors, consultants and legal advisors in relation to major capital and civil engineering projects in the private and public sectors both in the U.K. and internationally.
Karl has been appointed as an expert on quantum matters both in the U.K. and internationally. He has prepared and led quantum analyses in several international arbitrations across a variety of sectors including construction, infrastructure, and natural resources.
Prior to joining Yendall Hunter, Karl gained an extensive practical experience working for developers and main contractors in the U.K. and Australia. Karl has been involved in all aspects of construction, from tendering to project completion including testing and commissioning, handover, operation and maintenance. In a variety of roles, Karl has been responsible for procurement, supply chain management, contract administration, assessment of claims for loss and expense, project controls and change management.
Karl is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor by profession. He earned a bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, a bachelor’s degree in laws, as well as a master’s degree in construction law and dispute resolution. He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
